Asthma: A Changeable Disease

Age: As children grow up, their asthma can change. For some, it goes away. For others, it gets worse. Children are often exposed to more allergens while playing outdoor sports or on vacation! 

Environment: Your surroundings can have a huge effect on your asthma. A new house, new job, even a new friend using a different perfume can irritate your airways and make your asthma worsen dramatically. 

Genes: Researchers believe that genes play a big role in asthma. This may affect the course of the disease and how well a treatment can work.
